What about the Vémola vs. Pütz fight? Promoter Novotný reacts to the (un)announced Terminators battle
Could it be that it’s all baked? Apparently not. According to Oktagon’s website, the Terminator battle was supposed to take place in June, but promoter Ondřej Novotný is curbing his enthusiasm for now. How does he react to the (un)announced Vémola vs. Pütz fight?
Could it be that it’s all baked? Apparently not. According to Oktagon’s website, the Terminator battle was supposed to take place in June, but promoter Ondřej Novotný is keeping his enthusiasm in check for now. How does he react to the (un)announced Vémola vs. Pütz fight?
Karlos Vémola was supposed to appear in Prague’s O2 arena at OKTAGON 38, where he was supposed to challenge Patrik Kincl in an expected rematch and thus a fight for the middleweight title, which is currently held by Kincl. However, due to an injury, the fight did not take place.
The Terminator is focusing on his recovery and family life. The day before the tournament, he posted a video of him snowboarding down the hills. In the meantime, however, there was an unexpected disclosure on the Oktagon website.
Specifically, in connection with Vémola and the OKTAGON 44 tournament, when the largest Czechoslovakian organization will head to the city of Oberhausen for the first time.
“Thousands of fans will be introduced to the best German fighter of all time, the winner of the Battle of Germany and legend of the sport Stephan T-800 Pütz, who deservedly goes into the battle for the Oktagon welterweight championship,” reads the Oktagon website.
The welterweight champion is now the aforementioned Vémola. So, we were looking forward to knowing the date of the battle between the two Terminators, which will be very heated.
But promoter Ondrej Novotny denied the information at thepress conference in response to a question from MMA Shorties. It’s very confusing. I certainly didn’t say that Pütz was going for the title in Oberhausen. We’re human, we make mistakes.”
But Novotny’s statement doesn’t necessarily mean that this battle in Oberhausen won’t actually happen. But the fact is that the situation is really muddled, with Jorick Montagnac, among others, claiming the title and of course Rafael Xavier also in the mix.
