This Saturday we will see a tournament in Bratislava, however, in a month we will see an expansion to the UK, Oktagon will show for the first time in Manchester. The main event has been a certainty for months, but surprisingly we will also see a title fight!

Oktagon has decided to expand into the UK market as well and still has a lot of work to do to establish itself here. The first tournament will take place on the 4th of November in Manchester at the AO Arena.

Some of the well-known Oktagon names that will be competing in the tournament include Alex Lohoré, Ion Surdu, Jaroslav Pokorný, Shem Rock, Radovan Úškrt and Jakub Bahník.

Even Czech fans will be able to enjoy the event. We will also see the final of the Challenge, in which this time it was the English against the Irish. Oktagon also came up with the Stage to the Cage project.

We will see celebrities Jake Quickenden and Paul Smith in the cage. However, it’s now clear that it definitely won’t stop there.

The Oktagon will launch in the UK with a straight up title fight, which will take place at flyweight. Welshman Aaron Aby and American Elias Garcia will square off.

Both have not appeared in the Oktagon before, so there may be questions as to why they are going straight for the title, but the flyweight division doesn’t really exist in the organisation and this move is an attempt to kick-start it.

This could also theoretically be a trigger for a return for David Dvorak, who has talked about how he could see himself returning to the Oktagon, but not having an opponent there.

“One of Europe’s best flyweight fighters and BJJ black belt Aaron Aby is no stranger to life and death situations. The Welshman, who has fought some of the toughest fighters in the ACB and FCC, is one of the few professional athletes with cystic fibrosis.

Aby has also been diagnosed with stage three cancer which has developed into a 15cm stomach tumour. Doctors gave him 3 months to live, yet again he overcame adversity and went on to become a Cage Warriors title contender! Now he has the chance to reach the pinnacle of his ever inspiring story in OKTAGON.

Elias Garcia, a cage showman and highly skilled grappler, is a former 49th ranked flyweight in the world and a fighter who came up through the UFC. He has 6 stoppages out of 9 wins and holds a 3 fight winning streak.

He is undefeated outside of the UFC and will look to continue that trend in this flyweight title fight. Anunstoppable battle between two exciting fighters that will usher in a new era of OKTAGON MMA!” promotes the organization’s fight.
