Just under two weeks to go until the anticipated match. The Pirate and Patrik Kincl will face off for the Octagon Middleweight Championship belt. What do both players or Pirate’s trainer Attila Végh expect from the fight?

On February 26th, the new Oktagon middleweight champion will be decided at the O2 Arena in Prague. Samuel Krištofič and Patrik Kincl will fight for the title.

The bookmakers favour the Czech fighter, but Attila Végh, who trains Pirát, does not see it so clearly.

“We have read Patrik. I have known him for many years. Moreover, the trash talk plays in Pirát’s favour, he can get him fired up and set up the way he needs to in a fight,” Végh expressed in the Oktagon On Sight series.

It’s the shakers that could really play a big role. After all, they have escalated quite a bit. Kincl, for example, leaned on the Pirate for “whining” when he got the coronavirus, while Kristofich brought up Kincl’s past in prison.

However, the Pirate is now feeling well, although he is still not 100% fit after the coronavirus. But he is definitely not afraid to take the fight.

“I expect Kincl to take the fight to the ground where he will try to control me. It’s one of my most scrappy fights. I’ve never had to take him on, but he’s p***ed me off by starting to lean into me. I’m going to treat him accordingly, I want to knock him out,” expressed Kristofich.

However, Kincl, who is preparing mainly for middleweight fights, also had his say on the whole situation. He doesn’t want to take the trash talk, he says it is personal attacks that say more about the Pirate.

“They are low attacks from a low man. I will be the champion of the Octagon, the biggest and best Czechoslovak organization. Hopefully this will mean a rematch with Vemola,” Kincl believes.
