On Saturday at 18:00 we will see the OKTAGON 53 gala evening, which takes place in Germany. However, it was stuffy the day before at the press conference. Cihad Akipa and Ivica Trušček got into it. One of the promoters was also hit. What did Ondřej Novotný say?

OKTAGON 53 offers a very interesting programme. Of course, the tournament is primarily aimed at the German audience, but Czech fans will also enjoy it. Miroslav Broz will make a big comeback, Jan Malach will also be in action, Jan Fajk and veteran Jaroslav Pokorný will show up.

The debut in the organization awaits the talented youngster Jakub Batfalský, who signed up with the organization after leaving the RFA. He wanted to fight in the major leagues, but now he has made it. However, the rest of the card belongs more to the German crowd.

The main event will be catered for by the champion Katharina Dalisda, who will be facing her first defence in which she wants to finish the battle in three rounds, and the challenger Eva Dourthe. On Friday night, however, other aces claimed the spotlight. Cihad Akipa and Ivica Trušček dominated the entire pre-tournament press conference.

Akipa and Trušček basically stitched the entire press conference together. They were shooting each other. Then when it came to the staredown, it was going to be intense. But it exceeded expectations when the fighters couldn’t hold their nerve and went at each other.

It’s worth noting that Trušček was wearing glasses on his nose. Akipa’s attack was all the more dangerous. The reason for the conflict? Likes on social media. Who would have thought. It’s no wonder not only Akipa, but the Octagon has come under fire from critics.

Ondrej Novotny reacts to the staredown brawl

As soon as Ivica Truscek and Cihad Akipa got into it, the reaction came. Not only promoters Palo Neruda and Ondrej Novotny, but also the security guards who were on site, tried to pull the two fighters apart.

It was the main face of Oktagon who commented on the whole conflict on social media. Whoever was expecting some big condemnation would be disappointed. Still, the head of the organization pointed out a detail that many people may not have noticed during the conflict.

“Mela at the press conference and Palo (Neruda) got a cannon,” Ondrej Novotny pointed out that his colleague, with whom he founded Oktagon, also took a hit from Akipa.

“As soon as you fly in, you get slapped. Interesting press conference, hot blood in some duels. Akipa vs. Trushchek and Dulatov vs. Palaiologos definitely have even more momentum than before. Anyway, “boyz are back in town” and we can look forward to a great tournament with five Czech fighters and one Slovak,” he concluded.
