Vémola is back in training after his injury
Karlos Vémola had a great start to 2022. After missing more than a year due to injury, he made a truly spectacular comeback, first defeating singer Marpo in the first boxing match of his career, only to finish Polish BJJ black belt Michal Pasternak in the first round just two weeks later.
It didn’t even take seven weeks when he stopped the star Aleksandar Ilic, also in the first round, in a welterweight title fight in Prague’s Štvanice. The end of the year was supposed to be about settling old scores, when he was supposed to challenge middleweight champion Patrik Kinceloe, but the Terminator’s parts didn’t last.
So instead of the coveted rematch with Kinclo, he spent time in the hospital and was accompanied by many controversial moments in his personal life. So he was certainly glad when the year came to an end and he was able to go away to clear his head for a vacation.
These days, he is back in the Czech Republic and is even back to training. However, his return to training was disrupted by a person who is very well known on the domestic fight scene.
There was an unpleasant surprise waiting for Vemola in the gym
During his training in Prague’s Lanna Gym, Petr Vondracek, a well-known veteran of the domestic K1 scene, entered the premises and started challenging Vemola to a fight. Reportedly, the situation had to be resolved by the Yakuza coach. Vémola then sent a clear message to Vondráček on Instagram.
“Today I was training at Lanna Gym and Petr Vondráček arrived there again drunk or otherwise intoxicated and started making a mess and shouting that he wanted to fight me. Then the Yakuza had to throw him out of the gym.
Pete, I never had any problems with you. I don’t even know you exist until you’ve done something embarrassing somewhere. You’ve been having problems with everyone around you lately. Stop acting like a bitch. Those days when you had some balls are long gone. Unfortunately, you’re retired now, so no promoter would give us a fight, even though I know you’d love to.
If you got a problem with me, come see me at Reinders Gym or Monster Gym, we can pair up and settle it normally without shouting and swearing like men. I’ll leave it up to you if you want to wear gloves. Stop shouting at me in the street and in the gyms,” was Vémol’s clear answer.
Petr Vondracek last fought Petr Kareš at Heroes Gate 26, whom he defeated on points, but retired after the fight. He had attacked Kareš on Face to Face before the fight, so now it’s likely another upset in a short period of time, which only confirms his controversial past.
