Vmola wouldn’t knock out an old man walking his dog in the park. He could have been disqualified in the third round, Czech elite boxer Pejsar is clear
The fight between Karlos Vemola and Marpo is still stirring emotions. It is still being discussed by fans, both players and the media. Among other things, fans are still calling for statements from professional boxers, and they are coming. Most recently, Vaclav Pejsar spoke out on Monday.
The fight between Karlos Vemola and Marpo is still stirring emotions. It is still being discussed by fans, both players and the media. Among other things, fans are still calling for statements from professional boxers, and they are coming. Most recently, Vaclav Pejsar spoke out on Monday.
Václav Pejsar is one of the best boxers in the Czech Republic, he was even a member of the elite world fifty. So we could hardly look for someone more competent to comment on the boxing match between Carlos Vemola and Marpo.
Pejsar did so on social media. First of all, he preferred to pass over the fact that the fight between Vemola and Marpo was promoted as the greatest fight in the history of Czechoslovak boxing. After that, however, he moved on to the events of the fight.
Pejsar spent a good part of his statement commenting on Terminator’s performance. And that included pre-fight media coverage. The Octagon star claimed that just because he doesn’t use boxing in MMA fights doesn’t mean he doesn’t have it.
“Now he (Vemola) has shown us that he really doesn’t have it. And that he went for the first KO of his life? He can’t knock anyone out with that. I mean, nobody at all. Not even an old man walking his dog in the park. He wouldn’t shut him down with that,” Pejsar let slip on Facebook.
The Czech boxer admitted that when the fight started, it was grotesque on Vemola’s part. Only it wasn’t. The Terminator stuck to his strategy the entire fight. However, he also criticized Marko, who he said should have moved more, tried to run away from the ropes and added punches.
Not that he saw a clear dominance of Vemola. “It was even on clean punches. Those Karlos punches weren’t even punches. It was just kind of a snip of a non-snip, or whatever you want to call it. I would have happily given some of the rounds to Marpa, knowing he could have opened it up in the later rounds,” he admitted.
What’s more important, though, is the fact that the fight shouldn’t have ended as a TKO win for Vemola: ” He landed countless head shots, dozens in every round. Several punches below the belt. He should have been at least reprimanded, reprimanded for that. Then he should have had a point deducted and if it was repeated, he should have been disqualified in the third, fourth round at most.”
