Vmola or Tipsport Gamechanger? Chopped, details are being fine-tuned, Kincl reports
Patrik Kincl and his next steps. A topic that has been discussed for some time now. The middleweight champion has been at a crossroads for a long time, choosing between a rematch with Karlos Vemola and taking part in Tipsport Gamechanger. But he’s already made his choice.
An important step in his life and an important career and life decision. Patrik Kincl had to choose whether to close one chapter of his life, which has influenced several years of his career, or leave it open for the time being, knowing that he can provide for himself and his family financially.
The first option is of course a rematch with Karlos Vémolá. That was supposed to happen on December 30. The welterweight champion wanted to enter the fight with an injury that could have gotten quite a bit worse. But he would sacrifice even that.
But Terminator ended up in the hospital and according to some people his life was in danger. There was a lot of talk about how much it was or wasn’t staged and exaggerated. Anyone could make up their own mind.
Even Kincl, who, by the way, expressed concern a few weeks before the fight that Vémola would not be in the fight, made one. And they were confirmed. After seeing some of his posts on social media, including how he was snowboarding down hills the day before the tournament he was supposed to fight in, he couldn’t help but comment.
And there’s even money for the men who don’t make it to the final round. But the fact is, dropping down to welterweight four times in one year, when Kincl has already adjusted his body to middleweight, is not ideal.
Moreover, the rematch with Vemola is really important for Kincl. He took the fight personally. He believed he would win it. And now that he’s avoiding it for an attractive project, he’s going to give the Terminator ammunition for a trashtalk.
I’ve got it chopped, Kincl reports
Not too long ago, Patrik Kincl admitted that he had made up his mind, but that he couldn’t announce it yet. In fact, he has now repeated his words, only in a different way. Fans asked him about it in his traditional Monday Q&A on Instagram.
“I have it chopped up and the details are being fine-tuned. I reckon the Octagon will come out with it this week and then I’ll comment here,” the middleweight champion said.
And that he’s as mysterious as a castle in the Carpathian Mountains? “If it was about me, I’d announce it as soon as I decided. But I have to and I want to respect mutual agreements and contracts,” he responded to the criticism.
For now, it seems more realistic that he chose just a rematch with Vemola. After all, this is also suggested by some of the statements of promoter Ondrej Novotny, who is really messing with the heads of all the fans who are following the situation closely.
