Vmola keeps saying I’m just eating, but he’s still struggling and hasn’t improved, quite the opposite. He didn’t convince me with Matava, says Attila Végh
The Octagon has returned to Slovakia and on Saturday the tournament will take place in Bratislava. The Octagon has returned to Slovakia and on Saturday the tournament will take place in Bratislava. Before that, however, there was a morning official weigh-in and then an afternoon public weigh-in where Attila Végh faced questions. Of course, the Slovakian legend also spoke about the rematch with Karlos Vemola.
Karlos Vémola vs. Attila Végh. A rematch expected to take place this year. While the native of Olomouc, despite his injuries, has been taking one fight after another, the Slovak legend hasn’t fought since his win over Terminator.
At most, Végh has had an exhibition boxing match, and another one awaits him in two weeks. However, it is already the start of the preparation for the aforementioned rematch. The fight has a clear purpose. To help the former Bellator champion get back into it and remind himself what it’s like.
Vemola last showed his mettle in mid-April in Liberec when he defeated Al Matavao in the first round. But his performance was not at all convincing and brought more questions and doubts. Végh sees it similarly.
“Karlos did not convince me with his performance in the last match. Four years have passed since our match. He says I’m still just eating, which is true because I love it, but he still fought and didn’t make any progress that I could see that he was better at anything,” he expressed during the public weigh-in.
“I can say he’s worse than he was four years ago. So I don’t know what’s worse. Whether it’s eating fine and enjoying yourself or fighting and going backwards in the process,” Végh alluded to his rival’s lack of any progress.
In addition, Vemola has a very important fight with Patrik Kinclo in May and would like to cut another fight during the summer if he wins. He wants to be active and that is what Végh sees as his advantage.
“I’m relieved and now I’m going to work. I’m not exhausted. He’s been training, working and fighting all the time for these four years and I’ve been enjoying his wins because when he wins, I win with him,” Végh said.
