Karlos Vémola is preparing for his fight with Marpo, which will take place on Saturday in the crowded O2 Arena in Prague. But he’s having a tough time as he’s struggling with his knockdowns.
A big comeback! After more than a year, Karlos Vémola will be back in action for the fans of combat sports. In a boxing match, he will take on the popular Czech rapper Marp, who is a former Czech vice-champion in Thai boxing.
The last time Terminator fought was in March 2021 when he took on Slovakian fighter Milan Datelinka. Vémola was supposed to defend the title he won in a duel with Alex Lohore, but that didn’t happen.
The first Czech in the UFC failed to make the weight limit, which meant that only Datelinka could win the title in the fight. Vémola, however, took the title loss like the ultimate professional.
Vémola has been plagued by lingering health problems over the past year, even facing the end of his career. He didn’t give up, however, and instead arranged a packed schedule. Shortly after his fight with Marpo, he will be making his MMA comeback in Germany, and he plans to fight in Stvanica.
However, right in the fight with Marko he has to work hard to meet the weight limit. The fight is to take place in the weight class up to 84 kilograms. While Marpo has previously teased the Terminator with the fact that his weight is coming down easily, Vemola is in for a rough time.
On Wednesday night, specifically 36 hours before Friday’s weigh-ins, Vemola posted a video to Instagram stories where he revealed that he still has about a quarter of a kilo to lose in one hour. The math is clear – the Terminator was 9 kilograms short of making weight.
“We’re in for 36 hours of hell, hard on the training ground, easy on the battlefield,” Terminator said via the post.
