Vmola has been through death. Some of his values were far from normal life, Novotný said
Unfortunately Karlos Vémola will not be in the cage this year, and there is also a question mark over the rematch with Patrik Kinclo. Unfortunately, we will not see the Octagon organization’s middleweight title fight between Patrik Kinclo and Karlos Vemola again this year. The reasons have been known to the public for some time.
Vemola was in the hospital for several weeks and although there were reports that the fight may still happen, it was eventually announced otherwise. Vémola then gave a statement describing his condition.
According to his words, it was definitely not good and he was even in danger of his life. These have now been confirmed by promoter Ondřej Novotný on OKTAGON Hype.
“I know about his diagnosis, but of course I don’t want to discuss it further. I went to see him in the hospital on Sunday. He is better, but I have to say that if I knew what I know now, I would have cancelled the fight on Thursday or Wednesday.
He really has been through death. He was dead. He was in a condition that’s hard to describe in English, but it was just that he should be basically dead. Some of his values were far from normal. He’s a Terminator, it’s official now.
So in the end he cancelled the title defence. It’s not easy for us either, but it’s clear that health comes first. So we are trying to fill the card with more games, because of course there is only one rematch and it is special,” Novotny said.
This state of health clearly indicates that Vémola should be rested until at least March. Only then will he be able to train at least lightly.
For this reason, too, Kincl has a difficult time thinking about his future. If he refuses Game Changer and waits for a rematch, he may very well end up with nothing.
