His assist, which you can see for yourself in this article, contributed to the win of the Hammers over Norwich.
Coufal was the only one of the three Czech players who played in the 18th round of the Premier League. Tomas Soucek was absent due to illness and Alex Kral remained on the substitutes’ bench for the whole match.
It must be noted, the former Slavia Prague mainstay returned in style. In the 42nd minute he assisted Jarrod Bowen’s opening goal. You can watch his beautiful centre in the video below.
Bowen then added a second goal, in the eighty-third minute, to seal the victory for the Kladivars. At the same time, he is making a strong case for a nomination for the upcoming World Cup.
The 25-year-old Hereford United offspring is not doing badly at all in the current season. He has scored five goals and added nine assists in the English top flight so far.
The prestigious website WhoScored rated the two-goal Bowen as the best player of the match (with a rating of 8.5). Coufal is right behind him with a rating of 8!
Outside of the assist, Coufal had 83 touches of the ball during the match, won 3 header duels and made two key passes. The right-back’s passing success rate was around 71%.
The Hammers are currently in fourth place in the Premier League, which ensures their participation in the Champions League for the time being. They have accumulated 37 points in twenty-one games played, while they are currently five points behind third-placed Liverpool.
