On Saturday we will have the OKTAGON 25 tournament, where we will find out the new heavyweight champion. But we can also look forward to one new event. The organization is coming up with a novelty, which should raise the quality and level of the whole Oktagon.

Recently, the Octagon has started to use the services of foreign referees and now it has another news.
The organization will now use the services of video referee and it will be on Saturday’s OKTAGON 25 tournament.
The ring referee will now be able to review his decision with the help of a colleague at the video.
During the weigh-in, the head of the referees Pavel Touš explained this in more detail. For example, if the referee ends the fight on TKO, he can check with the video whether the finishing blow was not achieved in an illegal way.”
“In such a case, the referee may reverse the result of the bout against the fighter who ended the bout in such an illegal manner, in favor of the fighter who was terminated. A similar thing can happen in the case of submissions,” Touš added.
The video referee will definitely not be as strict as in football, but Touš explains that at least this will prevent constant disputes and discussions.
