Tipsport Gamechanger had two Czech representatives from the start, but Andrej Kalashnik was eliminated in the first round, David Kozma made it to the semifinals and dreamed of getting 300,000 euros. But he was stopped by Bojan Velickovic.
OKTAGON 46 in Frankfurt’s Festhalle offered phenomenal stories and performances. In addition, we saw the semi-final duels of the Tipsport Gamechanger, in which the favourites fell in the first round.
First it was Louis Glismann, the biggest favourite in the whole pyramid, who knew his dream was over after 33 seconds when Andreas Michailidis destroyed him. The Greek wanted Bojan Velickovic to dominate the second semi-final, and he got his wish.
The Serbian Prometheus faced David Kozma, a former champion he had already faced once in the title match, when he took the match on short-notice and, despite putting in a good performance, was finished.
This time the duel didn’t last too long. Velickovic ended it at 3:43, Kozma practically didn’t get into the match at all. The Serbian kicked well, was clinically accurate, extremely dangerous and had no problem defending Kozma’s efforts to take the fight to the ground.
Kozma apologized to everyone after the fight. “I didn’t get into the fight at all. Thank you to all the sponsors who support me. I will come out stronger next time. I’m sorry,” the former champion let his voice be heard in the cage.
Michailidis and Velickovic will face each other in the Tipsport Gamechanger final. However, the Serbian offered Oktagon an interesting option to make a third duel with Kozma.
“We fought once for five rounds at his home, now we had a three-round fight on neutral ground, so next time we can do a five-round fight at my place in Belgrade,” Velickovic expressed after the win.
The Octagon is very well followed in Serbia, Velickovic claims it is more popular in his homeland than when he was in the UFC. It’s no secret that the organization is exploring the market in the Balkans. After all, Michailidis also wants to bring the Octagon to Greece.
