He had to wait five long years for his time! Patrik Kincl finally got his chance and in the fight of his life he was able to find the recipe for what his opponents couldn’t do for three and a half years.

His longed-for rematch with his lifelong rival Karlos Vemola was not easy. Twice it didn’t work out, but the third time the most anticipated rematch of the Czech MMA scene finally happened and it was definitely worth it.

Unique footage reveals health troubles just before the duel of a lifetime

Rare footage shows moments just before the big rematch with Vemola. In them, he is practicing his fighting techniques, the most interesting of which, in hindsight, are the ones in which he shows the defense, with his opponent (in the video, David Dvorak, UFC fighter and sparring partner of Patrik) holding his leg and Kincl delivering elbow strikes.

In fact, we could see similar shots during the fight and it was the elbow strikes that proved to be the key in the end when they did significant damage to Karlos Vemola’s face. But the footage also revealed that Patrik had to deal with a lot of trouble just a few dozen minutes before the fight.

After disclosing complications with hand inflammation during match week, he now reveals other health issues that plagued him just moments before the match of his life. In fact, he was getting cramps in his right calf during the pre-match warm-up.

However, everything worked out well in the end and he achieved the biggest victory of his 16-year career as a professional MMA fighter. The footage just after the verdict of the scoring judges, when Patrik is celebrating with his team in his dressing room, is chilling.

“Five years! And he didn’t even see it,” rejoiced the champion. “When he threw me, those positions, I have to admit, he was strong. But not on that clinch against the wall,” he said, describing the match and the problems with the bloody floor, which he complained about during the post-match press conference.
