The London derby between West Ham and Chelsea had no winner. The visitors took the lead after a Joao Felix strike, with Emerson equalising in the first half. Both Czechs were also present at the important moments.
In the ninth minute, Joao Felix opened the net from the first big chance of the match, but an offside prevented him from celebrating his first goal in the blue jersey. In the 14th minute, Tomas Soucek came on for the injured Lucas Paqueta.
Four minutes later, Chelsea took the lead. Enzo Fernandez found Felix with a millimetre-accurate pass, who made no mistake from the volley.
The Hammers defence was a sieve. In the 23rd minute, Mykhailo Mudryk put the home side ahead again with a pass through the defence and Kai Havertz scored again from a close offside position. Moments later he was very unfortunate.
In the 28th minute, Vladimir Coufal’s centre was extended by Jarrod Bowen and the action was closed down at the back post by former Chelsea player Emerson.
In the 41st minute, Fernandez threatened from a direct kick, but Lukasz Fabianski made the save. After the change of sides, home captain Declan Rice tried his luck from outside the box, but his shot was wide of the near post.
But the pace of the first half dropped, Chelsea were more active, but without a precise finish. On the other hand, West Ham struck in the 83rd minute from a rare chance, but Tomas Soucek’s penalty was called back by the head referee after consultation with VAR.
The match was played to a close and the match ended 1-1. Chelsea remain ninth in the table, West Ham moved up to 15th place. However, they have only a two-point lead on the relegation zone.
