Could it have started any better? The OKTAGON 51 gala evening in Prague’s O2 arena kicked off with a duel between an experienced Czech and a promising German fighter. Unfortunately for the Czech crowd, the duel ended in the first round after Hassan Shaaban stopped Tomáš Fiala.
The fans must have been all the more excited about the first fight, from which not much was expected. Tomáš Fiala and Hassan Shaaban went into action.
The favorite was the talented German, who participated in the German Oktagon Challenge series. So far, he has managed three fights with a 2-1 record. The thirty-three-year-old Czech went into the bout with a 7-6 record. Those who missed the fight witnessed a sad, yet beautiful moment.
It was a sad moment because Fiala lost. However, Shaaban earned a round of applause in the end because he gave a sovereign and great performance.
Shaaban delivered a hard knockout
At 22 years old, Hassan Shaaban has a big future ahead of him. Moreover, he trains with champion Losen Keita, who even came to Prague and was in his corner with him. And you could see in his fighting style that the German has picked up a lot from the champion.
Basically from the first second Shaaban was dominant, hitting good combinations and getting Fiala in big trouble. Still, the Czech lasted longer than perhaps expected. He stood his ground at one critical moment, only to be finished off hard.
At 1:58 it was over and Shaaban scored his third career win. Fiala, on the other hand, lost for the fourth straight time in the Octagon and has an overall record of 1-4 in the Czechoslovakian organization.
