Vémola went into the match with Matavao like a pig into corn, says Novotný. Kincl could punish Karlos, Terminator coach says
Karlos Vémola took the cage in Liberec after a relatively long time. Al Matavaa was defeated, but his performance raised many doubts. Patrik Kincl also had his say. Now Terminator’s coach André Reinders also evaluated the game and Ondřej Novotný also spoke.

OKTAGON 41 delivered a fantastic show, nine early finishes and the return of Karlos Vemola, who managed to end his fight in the first round. However, for a big favourite, his performance was rather questionable.
The Terminator got carried away by the atmosphere and, especially in the first minute, even his coaches must have been worried. Al Matavao, as the biggest outsider of the whole tournament, was able to threaten in the stance and Vemola himself admitted that he was shaken after one of his punches.
But then he was able to take the fight to the ground, where he was like a fish in water. The Terminator, however, confirmed that it was on autopilot. Patrik Kincl had something to say about his rival’s performance. Or rather, he had all sorts of shorter insinuations.
Vémola was also aware of his mistakes. And how did one of his coaches André Reinders see it? “It was a lot of stress, Karlos was charging for punches in a senseless way. I told him not to underestimate his punches, that Matavao is short, stocky and can throw a hard punch from a short distance,” he told MMA Flight of the World.
Reinders is well aware that Vemola can’t fight Kinclo in a similar fashion, ” He can’t fly around like that. Patrik is a great fighter. He could punish him. The tactics against him will look different.”
One of Terminator’s trainers also admitted that he was one of the people who pushed Vemola to cut some more test fights just before the rematch with Kinclo.
Promoter Ondrej Novotny also commented briefly on the fight, “ Karlos did the right thing to want the fight. It was extremely obvious that he ran in there like a pig in a cornfield. Matavao showed what his elbow is all about.”
