Karlos Vémola has two more fights to go, but his long-awaited rematch has been confirmed. This will give Attila Végh the opportunity to prove what no one has done before him. Defeat the Terminator twice. How do the bookies believe him?
We don’t know the date yet, but one thing is certain. There will be a rematch. So Karlos Vémola will try to beat Attila Vegh for a second attempt to avenge his shocking loss from the 2019 Match of the Century.
That fight lasted 127 seconds. Végh landed a good shot early on and the Terminator was shaken up. He didn’t score a single takedown in the match, the Slovakian legend didn’t really give him a chance and, as rapper Marpo would say, built a Charles Bridge.
Before the fight, Vemola talked about the chance to return to the UFC, putting everything into it. He believed that a win could take him even further in his career. He put tremendous pressure on himself. He was the one who constantly promoted the fight with his demeanor.
But it was all the more disappointing when he lost. Dreams came crashing down like a house of cards and Vemola’s expressions when leaving the cage or arriving at the press conference were telling. Something broke that day.
The Terminator immediately wanted a rematch and was willing to do anything for it. He tried to beat Attila’s charges, to win titles, to constantly poke the Slovak in various ways. But Végh had no need to prove anything to anyone. And so the rematch was a long time coming, and we’ll see it at the end of the year.
It is very likely that the rematch of the Match of the Century will be hosted by Prague’s O2 arena. As expected, Vémola will be the favourite. The odds for his win are 1.50 as of 18 March.
But even more attractive odds are set for Végh to win, who has already started his preparation. However, it is a question of what form he can get into. He hasn’t fought in MMA since the fight with Vemola. Still, the fans are betting much more on him.
Currently, 94% of bettors are on the side of the former Bellator champion, with a total of more than 75,000 crowns bet on him to win, while not even 5,000 crowns are bet on Vemola.
