Vémola on Matava: Haters maybe sometimes underestimate enough quality fighters. A lot of them blamed me for Lohoré
This Saturday we are waiting for the next Oktagon MMA tournament. We can look forward to a title fight between Jonas Magard and Gustavo Lopez, as well as a fight between Karlos Vemola and Al Matava. The latter is widely underrated, but Terminator has outlined that he definitely doesn’t see them that way.
The Octagon 41 tournament is just around the corner. We can look forward to Adam Palasz, Jan Malach, Daniel Škvor and Vaclav Mikulasek, among others.
But of course the two main fights will get the most attention, with Karlos Vémola finally returning to the cage after a year and challenging Al Matavao.
The experienced Terminator got his opponent to warm up in front of Patrik Kinclo and the move has understandably drawn a huge wave of criticism.
However, Vemola defends his opponent and explains that he is certainly no pushover. He gives Alex Lohoré as an example, whom he defeated and then the Frenchman confirmed his qualities.
“A lot of haters blamed me for Lohoré when I took him on. But look at what Lohoré is doing and how he beat the Pirate and so on. I thought Matavao made a great fight with Pirate and completely obliterated Mazuch.
I think the haters maybe underestimate pretty good fighters sometimes unnecessarily. That will be shown in Liberec. Beating him is a given for me. It’s just one of the stops on my journey and then Kincl will come next.
I’ve had a really long break, but of course I like quick finishes. First round TKOs and easy money, but I believe I’ll finish Kinc sooner than people might think. People definitely don’t underestimate him.
I think there will be a lot of surprises. The fact that I’m going to finish Matavao, I don’t think that’s going to surprise people, but the fact that I’m going to finish Kinclo very quickly, I think that’s going to surprise a lot of people,” Vémola said in the organization’s latest video.
If Vémola fails to win, his aura would be completely gone. After all, he will face tougher opponents this year, and besides Kinc, he can also look forward to Attila Vegh.
