Vémola came face to face with Kinclo
The welterweight champion of the biggest domestic MMA organization Oktagon, Karlos Vemola, is expected to return to the middleweight waters at the end of the year. In the title bout, he will challenge middleweight champion Patrik Kinclo in a rematch from 2018 in the then XFN organization.
In the first bout, Vemola took advantage of his physical proportions and tormented his rival primarily on the ground. But Kincl put on a solid performance and put his opponent in particularly awkward situations in the stand-up.
The two rivals clashed on the Oktagon Face to Face show and the topic of weight was once again addressed. The Terminator candidly admitted that he’s not up to world-class at welterweight at his age.
Recall that the ruler of the semi-heavyweight division of the UFC, the highest MMA league in the world, is the Moravian samurai Jirka Prochazka and he doesn’t trust himself anymore. However, he has the highest goals on the domestic scene and says that in his fight with Kinclo, weight will play a role again.
Weight is everything, believes the Czech Terminator
“If I ever have any communication with the UFC in the future, as I’m old, I know clearly that I’m not up to the 93,” Vémola said on Face to Face. “I would be surprised if his communication was about 84, I think he would be good at 77, but that’s his business, ” he responded to Kinceloe’s words that there are some behind-the-scenes negotiations with the UFC.
“I mean, no matter how much I want to, at the highest level, which we are, I’m not able to compete at 93 in terms of world class,” he admitted. “I would have a hard time getting to 93, just like he will have a hard time getting to 84,” he believes in his weight advantage.
“Weight is everything, weight is important,” said the Terminator. “It’s quite possible he could beat me at 77 because I would come in dead and I couldn’t compete with him, but he can’t beat me at 84,” he said.
“It’s not about height, he’s got the 84 down, I’m dropping and he’s got to overeat to stay over 80 kg. If you don’t have it physically, you don’t have it,” Vémola concluded. Will Vémola use his physical strengths or will the champion Kincl surprise him?
