When Karlos Vémola fell to Attila Vegh, his dream of returning to the UFC definitely fell apart. He no longer fights in that organization, but he has an excellent winning streak in the Octagon.
Now he has a middleweight title fight with Patrik Kinclo and a long-awaited rematch with Attila scheduled, with the date not yet announced.
Attila was also at the last tournament in Liberec, where he watched among others Vemola against Al Matava, whom he knocked out in his classic way in the first round.
“He didn’t convince me that he has made any progress since our fight. Now I mean especially in attitude. He didn’t show anything new. Moreover, he finished his opponent in the way he usually wins.
We know that Karlos has one strength that works for him and nothing else. He can train with anyone and have as many fights as he wants, but the one-sidedness will remain. I think that our rematch will be the same as the first match,” he said in an interview with Sport.cz.
Their rematch is expected to take place at the last tournament of 2023, which is scheduled to take place on 30 December at the O2 Arena. However, due to Vemola’s busy schedule, confirmation is now apparently pending.
Végh will return to MMA after a four-year hiatus. During that time, he has been focusing more on boxing, indeed, he is due to fight Eric Spicely, who announced the end of his career in the Octagon, in mid-May.
