A few days ago Ondřej Novotný announced the end of Filip Macek in the Octagon. His future is now confirmed, as he became a member of Europe’s largest organization KSW. The date of the first fight has not been announced yet.
Filip Macek’s career is very much connected with the Octagon. The now thirty-one-year-old wrestler made his debut in the organization at the Oktagon 6 tournament in May 2018.
At that time, he defeated Ivan Ovchinnikov and made a beautiful series of five matches without defeat, until he ran into Tomas Deák, with whom he lost on points.
He made three attempts to win the title in the Octagon and lost his chance to Jonas Magard on points in Pardubice. After that he won twice and went for the title again last December.
The rematch with Magard didn’t work out, the Dane broke his jaw, so Macek went with Gustavo Lopez, who finished him in the first round. It was another big career disappointment for Macek.
The king of bantamweight is now Magard again, who defeated Lopez over the weekend, but there will be no rematch with Mack. The experienced wrestler has retired from the Octagon.
“Someone writes here Lopez vs Lima and Račić vs Macek. Fine, but Lima is injured and Macek won’t be with us anymore,” Novotny said in his live broadcast on MMA Flight Around the World.
A few days later, his future is clear, as he was announced as a new addition by KSW, the Polish organization and the biggest MMA organization in Europe.
Fans are very happy about the arrival of Mack, you can read it in the comments below the post. However, the date of the first fight has not been announced yet.
