Neymar has only been on the Arab continent for a short while and already a wave of controversy is building around his name. In the latest speculation, he reportedly wanted coach Jesus sacked, but denies it.
In the summer transfer window, Neymar ended his 6-year stint at France’s Paris Saint Germain and moved to a lucrative destination in Saudi Arabia. His move cost Al Hilal over 90 million euros.
Less than a week ago, speculation surfaced in the media that the forward was asking for the sacking of the club’s head coach Jorge Jesus.
According to Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, the striker was harshly reprimanded by the coach in the locker room for his below-average performance and generally poor attitude towards the club.
Furthermore, the management reportedly had a meeting in which they warned Jesus of an uncertain future at the club if Al Hilal does not move on in terms of results.
Neymar subsequently commented on the situation saying. This site with millions of followers cannot afford to put out more and more fake news.”
“With all the humility in the world, I ask you to stop it! It’s very disrespectful,” the Brazilian said. But the pressure around his name is certainly being felt by Coach Jesus.
After the Asian Champions League tie against Navbahor Namangan, he lashed out at his opponent and put all the blame on him.
“The match was difficult, if you could call it a match at all. The opponent was constantly disrupting the rhythm of the game and just stalling for time. I’m really not used to this kind of thing.”
“I have been coaching for 35 years and in that time I have never met anyone who stretches the time as much as Navbahor,” commented the Portuguese strategist.
