Already on November 13th, during the Oktagon Underground tournament, Karlos Vemola will fight Otakar “Marpo” Petrina in boxing. What did the promoter of the organization Ondřej Novotný say about this fight?
In November, fans of Karlos Vemola will see his next fight. This time it will not be MMA, but boxing, his opponent will be Marpo.
He has already shown himself in boxing less than three years ago, when he defeated Rytmus. But Vemola should be a completely different opponent in terms of quality.
“It’s an extremely interesting measurement. Marpo didn’t come out of training, he’s still training, he was a national champion in Thai boxing, so we can’t talk about a pure celebrity fight. He’s more skilled than Karlos in the stand-up,” Novotny said in an interview with Kaocko.
“I’m sure he has the bomb, but how long will he last, until the second round? His boxing is clearly predictable. You can read this if Marpo looks at Karlos’ fights, it won’t be that hard a puzzle. At the same time, this is potentially a big chance for him to fight the fight of the century or two, because he’ll never have that much time in his career to just prepare for boxing, to hire trainers, to lighten up on his feet.”
And that may just be another big motivation. Karlos certainly took the fight for the money aspect as well, as he says he likes money.
However, all his preparation is geared towards the rematch with Attila Vegh, which is still not confirmed.
