Mike Tyson, one of the greatest boxers in the history of the sport, became famous not only for his achievements in the ring but also for his controversial personal life. He was not only a knockout machine, but also a money-making machine. But he squandered it because of his obsession with women.

Tyson had a reputation for being a leech, which naturally attracted many women who revolved around the charismatic fighter. Despite having three wives during his lifetime, he not infrequently maintained relationships with other women.

At one point, “Iron Mike” is said to have had around twenty mistresses at any one time. And these were not just casual liaisons, but genuine mistresses with whom Tyson spent considerable sums of money.

Tyson’s obsession with women and out-of-control spending quickly got him into financial trouble. In 2003, just before his retirement, Tyson had debts of almost a billion CZK. By comparison, he had earned around 10 billion CZK during his career in the ring.

Does it seem impossible to spend that kind of money? “I was throwing money out the window,” he told Boxing Scenes. “I’ve been in orgies where everyone’s doing it with everyone, p***ing mothers, sisters, cousins. I was a crazy, sick man. I was buying these girls expensive cars. I was completely out of control.”

“I spent my last million dollars on rehab because I had nothing left of the $500 million I made as a boxer,” Tyson recalled on The Pivot podcast. “I blew it all on women. It took 15 to 16 years. It seems like a lot of money, but it’s all gone.”

Tyson still tried to revive his boxing fame after declaring bankruptcy, but lost both fights and retired.

But he has since found his footing again, and thanks to acting in films, two auto biofactories, his cannabis farm and attending various podcasts, he has a fortune of around £300 million this year, according to Ca Knowledge.
