So here it is. What the vast majority of Czech MMA fans have been waiting for, as well as Karlos Vémola. The Terminator got his dream swap with Attila Vegh, which has now been officially confirmed by Octagon.
The last time the two, arguably the most famous MMA fighters on the Czechoslovakian scene, met, the fight was dubbed the “fight of the century”.
Oktagon sold out the O2 Arena in December 2019 thanks to this fight in particular, and attracted a lot more viewers to MMA. Karlos Vémola was confident that he would prove who was the Czechoslovak number one, but this fight turned his life upside down, just like Attila Végh.
The Slovakian fighter hasn’t stepped into the cage since his win against Terminator. Only now, after four years, will fans have the chance to see him again, and again against Vemola.
“He just sits and watches. If he starts doing something, he can have a rematch with me. But I don’t want a surviving Attila,” Vemola recently expressed.
“Carlito has only one motivation in life, and that is to go with me. I want the fight and I will take it,” Végh let it be heard.
The Oktagon organization hasn’t revealed the exact date yet, but it can be expected that it will again be late December, when they often hold tournaments at the O2 Arena.
“Attilka is back,” the Slovak fighter announced on his Instagram. Fans are asking, in what form will Attila return? What motivation does he have to return to the cage? Will it not be just for the money? We’ll have to wait until the fight itself to find out.
