Oktagon will return to Slovakia in a few days and Bratislava will see a great show. Big fights, but also one interesting home debut. Slovak hope Veronika Smolkova will be in action. The talented beauty is looking forward to her debut.

The Ondrej Nepela Stadium will host the Oktagon 47 tournament on the first weekend of October. We will see a title fight between Karlos Vemola and Pavel Langer, Karol Rysavy, Robert Pukač and Ivan Buchinger will be in action, Lucia Szabová will return to the cage.

However, we will see one interesting premiere. After Szabová, Oktagon has acquired the second biggest hope of the Slovak women’s MMA scene. The sympathetic Veronika Smolíková will face the British fighter Megan Morris.

“Even before I knew that I would fight in the Oktagon, I imagined how amazing it would be to fight in front of 11 thousand spectators. When I fought in America, I couldn’t even get my family or friends to support me, now they can come and I’m really looking forward to it,” she expressed on MMA Flight Around the World.

“When I started with amateur fights, I know you (Ondrej Novotny – ed.) were at a tournament and I took a picture with you. I’m sure you don’t remember. I dreamed so much about it, I hoped so much that I would fight in the Oktagon. It‘s my dream,” Smolkova admitted in her chat with Ondrej Novotny, the head of the organization.

The up-and-coming fighter believes she will deliver an attractive fight. She likes shootouts, and so does her opponent, who is a big heartthrob besides. Moreover, after her experience in America, the Slovakian has worked on her complexity, so we have a lot to look forward to.

Smolkova is now 2-2 and still has an interesting future ahead of her, she has been gaining experience so far and she will want to capitalize on it in Bratislava.

It is worth mentioning that she is a friend of the aforementioned Szabová and they even train together. Both fighters are among the most promising and best that the women’s MMA scene in Slovakia has to offer.
