The Namibian nightmare goes into action. At 20, Hafeni Nafuka is the youngest Tipsport Gamechanger star
Hafeni Nafuka has only two fights under his belt in the Octagon, he is only 20 years old, but with a record of 8-0 he has claimed a spot in the Tipsport Gamechanger where he will be the youngest fighter. What did he say in an interview with Ruik ahead of the first fight of the million-dollar pyramid?
Hafeni Nafuka has only two fights under his belt in the Oktagon, he is only 20 years old, but with a record of 8-0 he will be the youngest fighter in the second edition of the Tipsport Gamechanger project. What did he say in an interview with Ruik ahead of the first fight of the million-dollar pyramid?
The greatest talent in the Oktagon? One of the biggest for sure. And Hafeni Nafuka (8-0) can show and confirm that he deserves this title for the first time on March 2, when his qualities will be properly tested by Predrag Bogdanovic(15-1), probably the toughest opponent in the career of the Namibian nightmare.
Now he is facing much bigger tests. How many, that is the question. Bogdanovic will be the first. Hafeni Nafuka will take part in the Tipsport Gamechanger. But as he admits, he wasn’t originally the first choice.
the 20-year-old fighter has had two fights in the Czechoslovakian organization. In the first one he defeated Peter Gabal, in the second one he dealt with Adrian Kepa. In both fights he showed excellent grappling. He showed that he is definitely a force to be reckoned with in the future.
“My manager told me that my name comes up in the discussion about the participants, but in reality I got into the pyramid because Konrad Dyrschka got injured,” he revealed in an interview with Ruik.
I want money for my family, reports Hafeni Nafuka
“It’s a guaranteed MMA championship league, I really wanted to be in the pyramid. I expect the best Europe has to offer. I can only gain,” the up-and-coming fighter is clear about his size and his goals in Tipsport Gamechanger.
Hafeni Nafuka will take on Predrag Boganovic right at the start. There are other big stars in the pyramid. Mateusz Legierski, Ronald Paradeiser, Daniel Torres, Losene Keita and Makwan Amirkhani are worth mentioning.
But he is not afraid of any of them: ” I don’t care about names. I just want to make money for my family. I have a chance to improve our lives. It’s the absolute highlight of my short career.”
“I’m the biggest favourite. Everyone will underestimate me. That’s why I don’t care who my opponent is at which stage. My advantage will be that I’m 20 years old. No one else will be able to develop as much as me during the tournament,” he says.
Don’t miss the show, says Namibian Nightmare
Hafeni Nafuka sees himself as the future of European MMA, and so does the Oktagon. So it’s no surprise that he has such confidence. Plus, he’s been in training since January, constantly training. In his own words, he is always ready.
But what to expect from his duel with Bogdanovic? “He has a similar style to me, but I haven’t noticed anything special about him. I expect him to try to take the fight to the ground. But then he will see that I am ready for all aspects of the fight,” let the fighter nicknamed Namibian Nightmare be heard.
“I feel like the favourite. You will see Hafeni 2.0. After a short exchange of punches, the fight will go to the ground and I will finish it,” he is clear about the fight’s course.
“I would like to tell my fans not to miss the spectacular show. And I have a message for Bogdanovic as well. I hope you are ready to face your biggest nightmare,” Hafeni Nafuka concluded the interview.
