The last test before Vemola! I take the fight with Spicely as a kind of pre-fight, I won’t have any more before Karlos, said Attila Végh

The rematch between Karlos Vemola and Attila Vegh still has no date. However, this interesting fight is getting closer by the day, and for the Slovakian fighter it will be his first MMA fight since their last bout. This Saturday, however, he’ll be measuring his strength against Eric Spicely in the boxing ring and will be looking to show that he can still get in shape.

Although the date is still not officially announced, it is expected that the rematch between Carlos Vemola and Attila Vegh will happen at the last tournament of 2023. Vemola has been begging for it for a long time, it will end a phase of his career.

However, Attila still said that he doesn’t need a rematch and will only take it if there is a proper financial reward. All parties have reached an agreement and are only waiting for the announcement of the date, and after past experiences, it is now better to wait.

Vemola hasn’t lost since the Fight of the Century, and he’s already set to face Patrik Kinclo for the middleweight championship belt on May 20. He will thus be the clear favourite in the rematch, as his opponent has not fought once since their MMA encounter.

He is currently focusing on boxing matches, and this Saturday he will be facing Eric Spicely, a former UFC or Octagon fighter who retired from boxing. This is also the last test of whether Attila still has it in him.

“I’m taking the fight with Spicely as a kind of a pre-fight, I won’t have any more before Karlos. I wanted to get back into the atmosphere, get my fitness back. That was more important to me than preparing for the fight itself. So we’ll see how I do,” Végh said in an interview with Kaocko.cz.

The fight will be under the Fight Night Challenge banner, more precisely at its fourth tournament. Apart from this fight we can also look forward to Rytmus and Monster, Rysavy and Bartel, Roušal, Farkas and others.
