The return of the Inquisitor! Popular fighter of the domestic scene Miroslav Brož has signed a contract with OKTAGON MMA and after his stint in RFA he returns to the wings of the biggest domestic company. But before Brož can make his debut in OKTAGON, he will be fighting in a tournament organized by Fabriq MMA. And he will challenge the young Slovakian wolf Denis Farkas in an attractive duel. According to promoter and fighter Attila Vegh, their duel will be the most interesting of the whole evening. It is scheduled for February 25 in Nitra.

How are you looking forward to getting back into action?

Very much, I had a fight in December, then I was troubled by an injury. But now I feel I’m about ninety percent healthy. Maybe it would take some more time to fully recover, but I’m an idiot, you know me (laughs), I want to fight, so that ninety must be enough. I’m also looking forward to the fight in Slovakia. I have a lot of fans there who write me and come to see me. Let’s make it happen.

How do you rate your opponent, what do you expect from him?

Denis Farkas is unpredictable, he has an excellent attitude and trains with the best in Slovakia. I’m sure Attila will prepare him well. It’s almost short notice, so you can’t prepare so well for the opponent, but I’m sure his style will suit me. I’m expecting a stand-up shootout from the fight, as I like it.

How did it come about that you will be fighting at Fabriq MMA?

I was supposed to have a fight at KSW in Liberec, but I signed with Oktagon, so KSW didn’t give me a fight anymore. Ondra and I agreed that I would start at Fabriq, so let’s do it.

What are your plans for this season?

This year I would like to do as many fights as possible, to put on attractive performances and spectacular shootouts. As far as training goes, I’m working on takedowns and ground and pound, trying to get more complex.

I would like to perform at the O2 Arena and also at Štvanica, because I like Prague the most and I have the most fans here. I want to do these fights for them, that’s why I came back. I was drawn to the Octagon and I’m looking forward to coming back!

Gamechanger will take place in the welter. Were you interested in being on it?

I left the Octagon and I’m very happy to be back now. I’m coming back with the utmost humility and decency and that’s why I wasn’t even interested in Gamechanger. Negotiations about my return were conducted with Ondra and Pale on the most professional level and I am grateful for that.

I myself feel that I am not in a position to dictate terms or impose myself anywhere. If I was offered the job, I probably wouldn’t even accept it because I feel I don’t deserve it.

I need to start at the tail end and reclaim my place in the sun, fighting my way back to where I was and ideally even higher. That’s why I want to make good and attractive fights again, assert myself and show that I’m up to it.

So when will we see you again on the Octagon soil?

I’m always in preparation, I just always step it up before a fight, so I’m ready to jump in almost immediately. We’re talking about Liberec and the O2 arena, and as I said, I’d love to do the Štvanica arena as well. Prague is home for me, my heart is here and Štvanice and the O2 arena mean a lot to me as a fighter.

Is there any particular name you are interested in?

As I said, I’m at the tail end of the rankings and I have to work my way up gradually and humbly. I’m not going to ask for any name in particular.

But the Welterweight division is loaded with great names, you just can’t go wrong there. If we’re talking about who should be of interest in the future, an interesting name for me is Robo Pukac or Christian Eckerlin.

What about a rematch with Jungwirth, would you be up for that?

The match was so even and great that anyone could have won. Christian is a great guy and a great fighter. I picked him as the perfect opponent to show my new face and fighting style and it worked.

We had a great shootout and to this day I think it was one of the fans’ favorite fights. If Octagon wanted a rematch, I would definitely entertain the idea.
