Vémola vs. Kincl 2 title fight confirmed for year-end
Oktagon, the biggest domestic MMA organization, announced this morning the anticipated fight between the two rivals. At the end of December, Prague’s O2 Arena will witness a title fight for the middleweight championship belt.
It will be contested by current champion Patrik Kincl and challenger Karlos Vémola in a rematch from 2018. For Patrik Kincl, the fight has a special flavor because he has something to return to his opponent. Four years ago he lost to Terminator in the then XFN organization.
The most anticipated fight of this year will thus end another great year of Oktagon. What does Karlos Vémola, who finally got the chance to hold two Oktagon champion belts at the same time, have to say about the duel?
The best paid fight of the Czech Republic and Slovakia, says a satisfied Vémola
“The rematch with Kinclo means absolutely nothing to me, except that I finally get my belt back,” Vémola said in an interview with iSport.cz. “And after the agreement with Ondra (Ondrej Novotny – co-owner of Oktagon), I will have the opportunity to try what nobody has ever tried to do here in the Czech Republic,” he expressed his wish to win the championship belts in three weight classes.
Recently, in an interview, he said that Novotny promised him the opportunity to fight for the heavyweight championship belt if he wins. That would take place in Munich, where the organization is scheduled to go in 2023.
The Terminator then went on to admit in the interview that the mutual duel would be special for him in one way after all. “Surprisingly, it’s the best paid fight in the history of the Czech Republic or Slovakia for me, because we just extended our contract with the Octagon,” he said.
“I didn’t think I would get the best money for Kinc, who I don’t think so many people are interested in anymore,” said an obviously satisfied Vémola. “I thought it would have to be a much bigger fight, but I’m happy for it, it will be relatively easy money,” he believes in his abilities.
“For me, he was a jerk and he’ll always be a jerk,” he continued in classic trash talk. “He is much talked about now, but after I blow him away, he will be forgotten again, just like they stopped talking about Clover or Jaga (Vaclav Mikulasek with the nickname Baba Jaga),” he believes in a clear win.
