The glove dispute is settled, Marpo has won all three pairs! Novotny should read the contract, Marpo manager says
Otakar “Marpo” Petrina showed almost nothing in the ring because of the style of Karlos Vemola’s wrestling. Marpo reminded Vemola at the press conference that he should return the gloves he paid for. How did the whole affair turn out?
Otakar “Marpo” Petrina showed almost nothing in the ring because of the style of Karlos Vemola’s wrestling. Marpo reminded Vemola at the press conference that he should return the gloves he paid for. How did the whole affair turn out?
Marpo bought the gloves for 25,000 crowns, there was no doubt about the quality. He wanted to wrestle in them, but wrestlers have to fight in the same gloves and Karlos Vémola said he didn’t want to pay for them.
So Marpo had to buy them for him, with the understanding that he would return them to him afterwards and buy another pair for the fight, so that he would not have the advantage of one of them being already beat up.
At the post-game press conference, Marpo reminded Karlos not to forget to return the gloves, and Ondrej Novotny joined the discussion, adding that at least one of the pair belongs to the organization.
The wrestlers say it’s in their contract, which they don’t read. But everything is different in the end, Marpo has all the pairs with him, which he confirmed to Lidovky.
“I have all of them, even the training ones, I’m glad that Karlos has faced up to it. It’s alittle ‘Nagano-victory’ of mine, until maybe there will be a rematch already according to the real boxing rules with a boxing referee and we will settle it the way it should be,” he said.
Novotny was then prodded by his manager Radim Tauchen. “We are happy that everything is as it should be. We still had our contract read by lawyers and there was really nothing about artifacts. I think Ondra should read it.”
