The fighters in the new Oktagon Gamechanger project are going for a really nice package!
Oktagon MMA yesterday at the press conference presented a project that is unprecedented in its scope on the domestic mixed martial arts scene! How much will the fighters who will clash in the year-long Pyramid earn?
Oktagon MMA yesterday at the press conference presented a project that is unprecedented in its scope on the domestic mixed martial arts scene! How much will the fighters who will clash in the year-long Pyramid earn?
Octagon is changing the game!
Taking inspiration from the old K-1 tournaments or the overseas organisations Bellator and PFL, the project will be with us throughout 2023, offering the audience a regular onslaught of emotions through five tournaments, at the end of which one winner will emerge.
Will we see the battle of the current Octagon Welterweight and Middleweight champions in the form of David Kozma and Patrik Kinceloe?
Seven fighters will be seeded by the Octagon, the other half will come from newly signed fighters across Europe. Oktagon will then select the remaining fighters based on the organization’s internal key and audience voting.
The fighters will make some serious money as part of the Oktagon Gamechanger
The greatness of the project is especially proven by the fact that all fighters will come to an interesting financial valuation, which most fighters in Europe only dream about. In fact, they will divide between them almost unbelievable 25 million CZK.
How will the reward be divided? The Pyramid winner will earn more than 7 million CZK for four fights in one year. This is a reward that is unprecedented on home soil. But the others will also get their money’s worth.
The defeated finalist will take home a prize of over CZK 3 million, a sum that will certainly please the budget of the fighters. If the fighter finishes in the semi-finals, he wins a reward of less than 2 million CZK.
The losers of the quarter-finalists then get less than a million and those who lose in the eighth round will not be missed. They too will receive a sum of nearly 400 thousand CZK!
These are numbers that really break records on the domestic scene and are very attractive for the fighters. As promoter Novotny said at yesterday’s press conference, the fighters themselves reacted to the project with their jaws dropped.
