OKTAGON 43 attracted especially with the last two matches, but the whole gala was packed and the tournament was really good. However, there were probably less knockouts than expected. Robert Bryczek took care of one of them again.
One knockout was seen on the prelims, the other had to wait until the second half of the main card. We got it in a fight that may not have been as expected for the fans, but was all the more beautiful nonetheless.
The first KO of the tournament came from Marek Mazúch, who finished Giovanni Melillo hard. The second one was delivered by Polish puncher Robert Bryczek, who was in a difficult situation as he was the understudy for the title fight and at the same time had to prepare for Lee Chadwick.
Chadwick is a seasoned and seasoned veteran with a style that is reminiscent of Karlos Vemola. Not for nothing, then, did the Octagon promote him as the English Vemola.
But there was no English Vemola against Bryczek. In fact, the Polish fighter didn’t let his opponent do anything and the entire fight, short though it was, was staged in the stand-up.
The last time the Polish fighter introduced himself with a knockout in the Octagon was in December, when he uncompromisingly sent Abdel Rahmane Driaie to dreamland, but before that he finished Mateusz Strzelczyk and Silas Robson de Oliveira outside the Czechoslovakian organization by KO and TKO.
Now it was Chadwick who felt the hardness of his punches in the first round, going down uncompromisingly after a left hook and before Bryczek could add another punch the referee expertly intervened to stop the fight.
Bryczek’s brilliant performance told him to not just be an understudy next time, but an outright middleweight title challenger.
