The Oktagon 28 tournament featured a fight between Karlos Vemola and Samuel “The Pirate” Kristofich. In the interview, however, Vémola hinted that he will definitely not go to the Octagon first as a challenger to the champion.
After that, several different reports went around the world, from the cancellation of the fight to the end in the organization, but all possible disputes were sparked.
In short, Vemola will fight Pirate at the end of the year. He announced it on his Instagram with the caption
Ondřej Novotný, the organization’s promoter, also commented on the situation and said he had no doubts that the match would take place.
“I personally did not doubt at any moment that we would finish the match. It’s a bit strict from some people, those statements that we promised something and sold tickets for something that won’t happen. I think by the end of next week we’ll be clear, Karlos put up a post from today’s meeting saying it’s on track.
I think a deal is shaping up and we can look forward to seeing the game we want to see on 12/30. It’s going to be a tournament that’s going to raise the bar and bring something different again. For the first time, we’d like more title fights, we’re going to have a halftime show, etc.,” Novotny said in a livestream on his Fight Club News YouTube channel.
