That’s a blast! Pirate Krištofič will also box at the May Oktagon Underground tournament

21. may, the Oktagon Underground gala will take place in Prague’s O2 arena, where the main fight of the evening will feature a boxing duel between Karlos Vémola and rapper Marp. However, Oktagon has come up with the news that Samuel “Pirate” Krištofič will also appear at the tournament.

The long-delayed boxing gala of the leading Czech-Slovak MMA organization Oktagon got its new date and already in May we will see the return of the main star of Oktagon, Karlos “Terminator” Vémola.

The most popular Czech MMA fighter will take on the singer Marp in the main duel of the evening. The much-delayed fight is finally getting real.

Recently, we also informed you that the organization announced another mega-fight with 4×3-minute boxing rules, in which the world kickboxing champion of the WAKO world organization, Vasek Sivak, will face the Oktagon bantamweight champion, Danish fighter Jonas Magard.

Today, however, on the Instagram of Oktagon, another news appeared, namely that the tournament will also feature Slovak MMA fighter Samuel “Pirát” Krištofič. This comes three months after his defeat at Oktagon 31sby Patrik Kinclo, who took the middleweight championship belt from him.

The opponent has not yet been confirmed by the organization, so we can only speculate at most, but there are some possibilities.

An amazing promo could be made for a rematch from the June 2020 Underground, where he faces his current Spartacus Gym teammate, Slovakian wrestler Vlast Čep. He beat Pirate on points under specially modified rules.

The fratricidal fight could certainly be an attraction. Ondřej Novotný, the promoter of the Oktagon organization, confirmed that Vlasto Čepo will be in the tournament.

“We can look forward to seeing Vlasto Čepo in a boxing match at the O2 arena,” Novotný confirmed Čepo’s participation in the tournament in his podcast MMA Flight Around the World. “We are still fine-tuning it,” he replied vaguely to a question from podcast guest Lajos Klein, who asked about a possible opponent.

So we have to wait for the gradual unveiling of a card that we already know will be properly stacked. We know that besides the listed fighters, the tournament will also feature Oktagon legend and active participant of the reality show Survivor Gábor Boráros.
