That was brutal! The Czech executioner of the British got hit hard with a knee to the groin. What was the luck of Bahník according to Kincl?
Of the three Czechs who were supposed to compete in the premiere of Oktagon in England, only two fought, only one won. Jaroslav Pokorný and Jakub Bahník were very unlucky. The former couldn’t even jump into the match, the latter’s fight ended after 25 seconds.

It’s as if Manchester is cursed for Oktagon and the Czech Republic. First of all, the goal of filling the local AO Arena as much as possible, where around 5 thousand spectators arrived, but they managed to create a very solid atmosphere, was not completely fulfilled.
Even before the tournament there was a problem for one of the Czech fighters. Jaroslav Pokorný took a hard kick to the ribs during a heated staredown with Shem Rock and the doctors did not recommend him to enter the fight at all.
Zdeněk Polívka seemed to be the only Czech “clicker” in Manchester. He broke a two-fight losing streak and returned to his winning ways by defeating veteran Lee Chadwick.
Jakub Bahník was very unlucky. The executioner of British stars was planning to execute another Englishman. This time rising star and big prospect Akonne Wanliss. Unfortunately, that plan soon came to nothing.
Bahnik was unable to fight on after being hit hard in the groin
The Wanliss vs. Mudnik duel promised an attractive stand-up spectacle, quite possibly some spectacular knockout, but we didn’t get it. The reason? The Englishman opted for a skinned knee, but the Czech did the same a little later and regretted it.
Wanliss hit the Czech fighter hard in the groin and he went down. The continuation of the fight looked unrealistic at that moment and unfortunately it was confirmed. The duel was judged a no contest and therefore had no winner.
Patrik Kincl, who was in the Czech fighter’s corner, commented on the situation on his Instagram live stream. He stated that Wanliss’ knee was definitely not intentional, while also admitting that Bahnik had some bad luck.
He was wearing a metal jockstrap, not a plastic one. According to Kincl, it would not have withstood such a hard blow and would have cracked. Continuing the fight would have been risky, so hopefully Bahník won’t take any serious health problems from this moment.
