That Lopez was in the UFC? He’s not a superhero, he trains with girls. I’ll kill in the cage, Magard tells his challenger
Jonas Magard was supposed to have his first title defence in December in a rematch with Filip Mack, but he was injured a few days before the fight and couldn’t take part in the fight. Gustavo Lopez took the chance and destroyed the Czech veteran. The Danish shark is constantly picking on him and it is no different less than a week before the duel.
Unfortunately, he’s not a very active champion, but he’s everywhere. That’s how Jonas Magard, currently the king of bantamweight in the Octagon, could be described in a nutshell. He last fought in MMA in November 2021, when he defeated Filip Mack in a title fight.
Otherwise, the Danish shark has only fought Vaclav Sivak in boxing in the first half of last year. He was supposed to have his first defence against Mack at the end of the year, but it didn’t happen due to a nasty injury a few days before the fight.
“I was sparring and that’s where I got hurt. I drove home for two hours with a broken face. The hospital told me I had three fractures. Even in that situation, I asked if the surgery could wait until after the match. It was not possible,” recalls the Road to the Octagon champion.
Now he promises that even if anything happens, he won’t go to the hospital and the fight with Lopez will happen. However, he did briefly revisit why he stood for a rematch with Mack. He wanted to end it. He felt that he had a score to settle with him because of the fact that he didn’t make it in the first fight.
But now he wants to destroy Gustavo Lopez, who hasn’t given Mack a chance, and who is virtually oblivious to Magard’s trash talk.
“Gustavo fought in the UFC, that’s worth something to me, but it doesn’t mean he’s a superhero. I’ve been looking forward to a fight like this for a long time. My only business is wrestling, his way is different. Mine is pure violence. He’s enjoying life, I’m working my ass off. He trains with the girls, I challenge the toughest opponents on the team and I want to prove myself, I’ll go out there and kill,” promises the Dane.
Lopez, for his part, promises Magard that even if he’s a shark, he’ll drown him. So the two fighters will literally go at each other’s throats and want to end each other. This promises to be a great show.
