Unpleasant news for Oktagon fans and the organization itself. One of the main faces of the tournament at Štvanice was injured and unfortunately will not participate in the tournament.
It’s coming. The most beautiful of the year is almost around the corner, sold out Štvanice will host several interesting and attractive duels. But unfortunately we won’t see one of the main ones.
It was supposed to be the only heavyweight bout of the whole tournament, and it was expected to be a big fight that the fans were looking forward to. After all, the position on the main card corresponded to that.
Jeremy Kimball, who returned to the Octagon in April after a long two and a half year break, was to face Hatef Moeil, who had made quite an impression at the Frankfurt tournament. But the American fighter is not able to take part.
“Jeremy Kimball is unfortunately injured and his fight at Štvanici is cancelled. We wish him a speedy recovery,” the organization said in a statement on social media.
Fans below the organization’s posts made their sadness clear. For some, this was one of the few fights they were looking forward to. Overall, however, it should be noted that Kimball really won over the Czechoslovakian crowd.
No need to despair, however. We will definitely see him in the cage again. And Štvanice itself will offer some really interesting matches. For example, Filip Macek will be in action, Máté Kertész and Karlos Vémola will also be present.
