Shame, dehonesty of the Octagon! Vemola faces huge criticism for his next opponent. How does the public react?
Karlos Vémola is scheduled to face Patrik Kinclo in May, but he has another fight a month earlier. The risk? The Terminator doesn’t think so. However, he has spoken of a tough test ahead. But the reality looks different, and so social networks have been flooded with criticism.
Karlos Vémola is scheduled to face Patrik Kinclo in May, but he has another fight a month earlier. The risk? The Terminator doesn’t think so. However, he has spoken of a tough test ahead. But the reality looks different, and so social networks have been flooded with criticism.
Vémola will face Matava
Karlos Vémola was the first fighter from the Czech Republic to make it to the UFC. He likes to brag about it to this day. But the respected fighter is becoming a target of criticism, ridicule. And it’s getting worse.
He was supposed to fight Patrik Kinclo at the end of December last year. More than a month before the fight was scheduled, he indicated concern that the Terminator wouldn’t make the fight. And his fears were confirmed. Much has been written about the whole affair and the seriousness of his injury.
However, now Vemola is healthy and a date for his fight with Kinclo was announced in mid-January. But to make matters worse, a month before that, the Olomouc native is scheduled to fight in Liberec.
Octagon defended it by saying that the fight with Kinclo is difficult and important for the Terminator and that he needs a warm-up fight due to the long layoff. A feeder? Vémola clearly denied that. He was talking about a possible fight with Polish legend Michal Materla.
But the fighter who will finally test him is definitely not Materla. Al Matavao has been announced as the opponent for Vemola. A dangerous puncher, of course, who can knock his opponent out. But on the ground, he’s been trampled and made impossible by Samuel Kristofich.
So it’s pretty easy to imagine what the Terminator might do to him. Plus, it’s in play that he gets hurt. And if Matavao should hit him once, everyone can probably guess what that would mean for Vemola’s career.
Public reaction, criticism even in Poland
Karlos Vémola often talks too much. In essence, he is depriving himself of the respect of the fans. And it showed when the fight with Matava was announced. The social networks were flooded with criticism.
On Facebook alone, more than 1.2 thousand people reacted derisively to Oktagon’s post announcing the duel. This is about 70% of all reactions. And a look at the comments would be very unpleasant for Terminator.
The situation is no different on other social networks. Matavao is seen as mere fodder and Vemola faces criticism for both his words and his choice of opponents. Words such as “disgrace” or “dehumanization of the Octagon” are often heard.
After all, the fact is that the Octagon does not deserve something like that. Besides his treatment of Vemola, he’s doing a great job.
Thus, Oktagon and Vemola have to face various jokes or collages that are completely unnecessary. Just like the whole situation.
It’s worth noting that the situation is also being noticed by Polish fans, who are sovereignly on the side of Patrik Kinzel, who fought in the local KSW organization. For example, Filip Blachut, a journalist of InTheCage.pl, does not believe that Matavao will realistically test Vemola in any way.
And the comments on his tweet basically copy the same idea. Many Polish supporters don’t understand that Kincl would let something like this happen.
