Marpo will face Ilya Škondrič in boxing in December in the RFA organization. However, this interesting fight has its negatives. Marpo fights in the Octagon a few months before and his promoter Ondrej Novotny doesn’t like the early announcement of the fight. What does the RFA promoter think?
Marpo will face Ilya Škondrič in boxing in December in the RFA organization. However, this interesting fight has its negatives. Marpo fights in the Octagon a few months before and his promoter Ondrej Novotny doesn’t like the early announcement of the fight. What does the RFA promoter think?
The RFA organization announced at its second press conference a fight between rapper Otakar “Marpo” Petrina and MMA legend Ilja Škondrič in boxing.
This immediately sparked a wave of reactions, as both fighters are associated with the Octagon. In addition, Marpo has a fight with Karlos Vemola in May.
However, the rapper said that he has a one-fight contract in the Octagon, so there’s no problem with him fighting in another organization in December.
Yes, legally there is no problem, yet the promoter of Oktagon doesn’t like it too much. “It’s a disappointment for me as a guy and a friend. Marpa’s manager basically lied to us,” said Ondrej Novotny in the MMA Flight Through the World podcast.
Boris Marhansky, who is the promoter of RFA, also reacted to these words. “I read his comments about Mara and I don’t understand it. The reason we announced our fight early is to let the general public know that there will be such a fight at the end of the year.
As well, we want to start bringing you Ilya’s training process. We’re glad we were able to convince him and we know he’ll bring this scene back to life in a big way,” said MMA Shorties.
