RFA on Polívka: We never even considered him. He’s trying to fight for a better fee, says promoter Marhanský
Zdenek Polívka signed a new contract with Octagon quite recently and in the announcement status he mentioned that he got a better offer but he refused it. He subsequently admitted that an offer from the RFA also came, but this was denied by its promoter Boris Marhansky.
Zdenek Polívka signed a new contract with Octagon quite recently and in the announcement status he mentioned that he got a better offer but he refused it. He subsequently admitted that an offer from the RFA also came, but this was denied by its promoter Boris Marhansky.
It all started with a statement on Instagram, in which Zdenek Polívka had his picture taken at the signing of the contract with Octagon and added to it that he does not forget the handshake and it is more for him than a signed contract, which he will not break for a few extra euros.
In a subsequent interview, he admitted that he even had two offers from the RFA, with the new organization not dealing directly with him, but with his trainer.
“I don’t know exactly. Because they didn’t deal with me specifically, but they tried to approach me through my team. But the coach didn’t even tell me the amount. But considering what they offer to others, it could have been around three times that amount or somewhere in those ranges. They just didn’t come through for us.
And they did the same thing a few months before, when almost no one knew about RFA. Even then they tried to approach me with an offer of a financially interesting contract, but the wheat just wasn’t in the ground with me. I firmly decided for the Octagon,” Polívka told Kaock.
But the problem is that promoter Boris Marhansky claims that Polívka has not received any offer from his organization and the fighter is only trying to increase his price.
“The truth is that Polívka has never received any offer from us. Neither he nor anyone else from his team. I really don’t know why Polívka is doing this or what he is really after. If he wanted to get a better fee or if he’s after something else. But the truth is that we never even considered him,” he told Kaocko.
However, the RFA organization certainly isn’t done announcing new fighters, we’ll have to wait until the February press conference for more, with the first tournament scheduled for May 14.
