RFA from Oktagon caught a legend of Czech MMA scene! The road to the title might not be long
The RFA continues to expand its ranks, and on Tuesday it plans to announce another major addition, and a truly legendary one at that. While it’s not official, the silhouette makes it virtually clear who the organization, which wants to compete with the Octagon, has agreed to a deal with.
The RFA continues to expand its ranks, and on Tuesday it plans to announce another major addition, and a truly legendary one at that. While it’s not official, the silhouette makes it virtually clear who the organization, which wants to compete with the Octagon, has agreed to a deal with.
Already on Saturday, July 23, the RFA will hold another tournament, however, it has to fight with considerable competition. On the same night Oktagon is holding a tournament at Štvanica, UFC is in London on the same day and KSW from Poland is planning an interesting tournament on the same day.
And that RFA can’t compete with Oktagon in terms of interest? With new signings with interesting fighters Boris Marhansky and his team are trying to change that. But it’s a long run. In addition, a new competitor could be in play as popular youtuber Vladimir Kadlec attempts to properly revive the famous GCF brand.
Now RFA is planning to announce another big addition. From the silhouette, however, it is almost 100% clear in advance that the legendary Petr “Monster” Prince, who unsuccessfully fought for the Octagon title in April when he was no match for David Kozma, is heading to the organization.
It’s not much of a surprise, though. And that’s for two reasons. The Prince has announced several times that he’s missing one thing in his long career – a title. He didn’t get that in the Octagon, and it would be a while before he got another shot. In the RFA, he could go for a title fairly soon.
Besides, of course, the RFA can offer conditions that few in Europe seem to be able to compete with. After all, in an interview with Kaocko.cz in May he hinted at heading to the RFA.
“The offer from RFA came. And it was diametrically financially different. You can’t compare it. There is also the possibility of fighting for the title in the RFA. It may not have a name as an organization yet, but the financial conditions there are different,” Monster was quoted as saying at the time.
“I don’t have that much time to sacrifice. And to go three fights before I get a title shot, that’s a year and a half to two years. That’s almost unthinkable for me. I have a family, a gym. Either they (Octagon) would have to come up with an interesting offer or I have to get to it somehow sooner,” he said.
