Premature retaliation! Vémola and Attila fought on the TV show, but instead of fists they hit each other with a tortilla
Octagon has already announced that we will see the long-awaited rematch between Attila Vegh and Karlos Vemola. There is still no clear date, but both have cut an early fight on the TV show. However, instead of fists, they were slapped with tortillas.
Octagon has already announced that we will see the long-awaited rematch between Attila Vegh and Karlos Vemola. There is still no clear date, but both have cut an early fight on the TV show. However, instead of fists, they were slapped with tortillas.
We don’t know the date yet, but one thing is for sure. There will be a rematch. So Karlos Vémola will try to beat Attila Vegh for a second attempt to avenge his shocking loss from the 2019 Match of the Century.
That fight lasted 127 seconds. Végh landed a good shot early on and the Terminator was shaken up. He didn’t score a single takedown in the match, the Slovakian legend didn’t really give him a chance and, as rapper Marpo would say, built a Charles Bridge.
Before the fight, Vemola talked about the chance to return to the UFC, putting everything into it. He believed that a win could take him even further in his career. He put tremendous pressure on himself. He was the one who constantly promoted the fight with his demeanor.
But it was all the more disappointing when he lost. Dreams came crashing down like a house of cards and Vemola’s expressions when leaving the cage or arriving at the press conference were telling. Something broke that day.
The Terminator immediately wanted a rematch and was willing to do anything for it. He tried to beat Attila’s charges, to win titles, to constantly poke the Slovak in various ways. But Végh had no need to prove anything to anyone. And so the rematch was a long time coming, and we’ll see it at the end of the year.
It will probably take place in Prague’s O2 arena at the last tournament of 2023, but the famous fighters have already had an early shot at the Slovak TV show.
In the Slovak TV show Markiza 2 on 1, they did not hit each other with their fists, but with a tortilla. The TV station posted a short taster on its social media, the full show can be found here.
How did this duel end? As expected, a draw, because you don’t just finish someone off that way. Of course, it was just for fun and both fighters took everything with humour.
