AC Milan successfully reached the Coppa Italia semi-finals on Tuesday night, beating Cagliari 4-1. Two goals for the Rossoneri were scored by Luka Jovic, who was praised by the AC coach after the match. Stefano Pioli also praised the youthfulness of AC Milan.

The key game for the current AC coach was the match against Sassuolo, in which the Rossoneri rather suffered a 1: 0 win. Another very important match was the Coppa Italia semi-final against Cagliari.

Anyway, AC won this match 4: 1 and advanced to the quarter-finals of the Italian Cup without any major problems. There, the Rossoneri will face either Atalanta or Sassuolo. Luka Jovic scored two goals in the first half, youngster Traore scored in the second half and Rafael Leao finally scored.

Pioli completely changed the starting eleven for the semi-final match against Cagliari, sending young talents into the game. For example, Jan-Carlo Simic, Alejandro Jimenez and Chaka Traore started from the first minute. The coach of the famous Italian club praised the youth of AC Milan after the match.

“These boys have quality, talent, but above all a great attitude, which they have to stick to. Their approach shows that Milan’s youth academy works really well. The young players prove that they are a force to be reckoned with.

It’s good that we can count on them as real options for the squad, not just as emergency replacements when someone is missing. This is a success for the club,” said Pioli in a post-match interview, whose words are also quoted by Football Italia.

And as for goalscorer Jovic, the author of two goals? “I continue to believe that Luka has great quality and he needs to trust himself more, work with more inner fire because he has what it takes to become a great player,” said Pioli.

He also concluded by adding that he wants to change one horrendous AC Milan record. The Rossoneri have not won the domestic cup since 2003, so the goal is clear. Of course, the Europa League should be the main priority as well.
