The great tribulation over? Coach Pioli officially ends on the AC Milan bench, who will take over the Rossoneri from the new season?
Milan can thank him especially for his work in the 2021/22 season, when the Rossoneri won the championship after many years, although Zlatan Ibrahimovic also deserves a lot of credit. However, Stefano Pioli did not record another success with AC. Who will be the new AC coach?
Milan can thank him especially for his work in the 2021/22 season, when the Rossoneri won the championship after many years, although Zlatan Ibrahimovic also deserves a lot of credit. However, Stefano Pioli did not record another success with AC. Who will be the new AC coach?
There are indeed many negatives associated with the current manager, especially in the last year. Be it the unfulfilled goals of the club, the playing display which is not worth much in the Rossoneri’s performance in a large number of cases or also the constant losses in the Derby della Madonnina.
Another negative is that Pioli simply doesn’t know how to work with young talent. He incomprehensibly lets players playing in form sit on the bench, he and his colleagues also bear part of the blame for the huge number of injured players, something AC have had major problems with this year.
So it’s actually not surprising that Pioli will end up on the AC bench very soon. Milan fans, and in fact everyone who has anything to do with the club, lost patience with him a long time ago. Recently, even the club’s management finally figured it out.
This information was confirmed on Thursday afternoon by Italian journalist Daniele Longo. An official announcement will follow soon, the 80-year-old coach is facing his last moments on the AC bench.
Pioli is out, who will become the new AC Milan coach?
However, there has long been speculation about who will replace him at the San Siro. Julen Lopetegui, i.e. the former Porto, Real Madrid or Sevilla coach, was mentioned as one of the possibilities. But after the fans’ disapproval, the Italian giant’s management withdrew from this option.
Lopetegui then officially signed a new contract with West Ham on Thursday afternoon. The Rossoneri are thus looking for another name, with the latest reports suggesting Paulo Fonseca could become the new AC coach. He is out of contract at Lille at the end of June.
With the French outfit failing to hold on to third place at the expense of Brest, Lille will play a Champions League preliminary round. The Milan club’s management has reported ly offered Fonseca a two-year contract with an option for a one-year extension. The likely move was also reported by Sky Sports.
According to the Calciomercato website, the coach himself has given the green light to the move. Fonseca is reportedly ready to sign a contract at San Siro with a salary of around €3 million per season.
