Milos Petrasek and the Octagon? It’s hard to imagine one without the other. The likable wrestler has gained popularity not only with fans but also with the promoters of the biggest organization on the Czechoslovak soil.
Ondřej Novotný often uses him for his popular MMA podcast Letem světem, in the summer during the tournament in Štvanica he gave a very emotional and touching speech after Petrášek’s fight.
But the fairy tale story could have been over. “Meloun” received an offer from the newly formed RFA organization, which is recruiting one fighter after another.
“Like many wrestlers on the domestic scene, I got an offer to wrestle for a new organization that came to the Czechoslovakian scene. It was literally an offer that you don’t refuse. Thank you very much for that, I appreciate it,” the wrestler said on his social networks.
“However, I would sincerely regret leaving Oktagon. I like where it’s gone over the years and where it’s going. My sensei André Reinders met with Ondra Novotny and I’m glad it worked out the way it did and we can shake hands after the fight like we’ve been doing for years,” he added.
Besides, Petrasek wrote that he has challenges ahead of him in the Octagon that he wants to face, not run away from. He also expressed his gratitude to everyone who is working to develop the fight scene in our country.
He also thanked the fans who contribute to all of this and without whom MMA could not function at the level it is at now.
