Oktagon wants to sell out the football stadium in Frankfurt
Three open-air galas, two of them in a football stadium? A worldwide unique event, which will be attempted by the biggest Czechoslovak organization. Oktagon announced in December that it would try to conquer Prague’s Eden, where it has already sold 80% of its tickets.
After a stop in Prague in June, the organization’s stars will show up in Bratislava a month later at the “Slovakian Štvanica” in a somewhat more modest hall with a capacity of less than 6,000 seats.
To make matters worse, Ondrej Novotny and Pavol Neruda decided to make a crazy and bold move. This year they will try to sell out the football stadium in Frankfurt, Germany, which has a capacity of over 55,000 seats.
The spectacular gala evening is scheduled to take place on 12 October. The stadium has a retractable roof and the promoters have already visited several different events there. If the local Eintracht shrine can be sold out, it will be one of the biggest events not only for European MMA.
Ondrej Novotny has a bold dream, humbly believes in success
“Steve Jobs once said that very often people don’t know what they want until you show it to them. I think everybody wants to be at a tournament like this. I hope everybody comes. And if not, it will be nice to have it in a football stadium,” Ondrej Novotny said at the press conference.
He also hinted at a few draws. For example, a fight between two Terminators is in the cards, and a battle between two German greats Christian Eckerlin and Christian Jungwirth is also a possibility. After all, the stars that the Oktagon has in Germany are not entirely few.
“We only live once, so we need to try everything. It’s in our DNA. We’re still putting a lot of effort into the rise, investing money back into the organization and trying to follow our dreams,” the organization’s boss let it be known.
“We saw NFL Europe in Frankfurt and the ticket prices surprised me. They were inspiring but crazy. Yet there were millions of people standing for tickets. If there were four million people waiting in line for tickets like at the NFL, it would be great fun,” said Ondrej Novotny.
