The social event of the year, as Saturday’s Octagon Undergrdound tournament is promoted by the organization, missed out on one of the big draws. A Moravian fighter dropped out of the fight due to injury. The Czech boxer also lost her opponent.
The main card of the Oktagon Underground tournament lost one of its biggest draws. Matěj Peňáz and Alex Lohoré were supposed to fight together. However, the Moravian fighter withdrew from the fight due to injury.
“An injury to his hand made it difficult for him to return between the ropes. We are diligently looking for a replacement for Alex Lohoré,” the organization announced on social media Thursday evening.
Meanwhile, this could be the last chance for Peñaz to show his face to the home fans for a while. After all, he has a UFC contract fight coming up in September, so it’s possible he won’t add another fight in the Octagon for quite some time.
Unfortunately, this wasn’t the only loss the organization’s promoters have to deal with. The other, however, is less noticeable. Lucie Sedláčková lost her opponent again.
The Czech boxer was originally supposed to fight Lucie Pudilova, but she was injured in her last fight. The UFC veteran was to be replaced by Dorota Norek. But she will not appear either.
However, Oktagon quickly found a replacement for Sedláčková, Milena Koleva. Hopefully, the organization can quickly find a replacement for Peñaza as well.
