Octagon in a battle for territory with Polish KSW! We wouldn’t be friends, said Ondrej Novotny

Ondřej Novotný commented on the biggest Polish MMA organization KSW, which is allegedly behind the scenes arranging its possible tournament in Ostrava. How does Oktagon MMA itself feel about the situation?
Recently, the biggest fish in the waters of domestic MMA, Oktagon, announced its expansion to its neighbors in Germany. In June, an Oktagon gala was held in Frankfurt, during which the organization sold out the local Festhalle.
Then in October, another Oktagon 36 tournament will take place at the same venue. Ondřej Novotný also revealed his expansion further west in Europe. Is the organisation facing a similar territorial fight with other organisations from abroad?
Now it looks like the biggest Polish MMA organization KSW is expanding in a similar way. Indeed, the latter is reportedly speculating about holding its tournament in Ostrava. Information is bubbling behind the scenes that such a tournament could be held as early as October this year.
What does Oktagon promoter Ondřej Novotný have to say about the behind-the-scenes speculation? “We have a very good and correct relationship with KSW now, I would say,” Novotny said in his podcast MMA Flight Around the World.
“On the other hand, it has to be said that if KSW wants to go to Ostrava, then we are definitely not friends at least for that event,” he hinted at a possible feud. “We take it as a territorial thing, just like KSW takes it territorially as far as Poland is concerned,” he explained his position.
“Of course, we are not willing to release anyone for any tournament in Czechoslovakia outside of the Octagon,” he said firmly on the subject of possible Oktagon fighters at such a tournament.
“I made it clear to all our friends that whoever would like to compete there, they can, it’s up to them,” he said. “But don’t let him think that we will talk about any possibility of starting in the Octagon,” he added firmly.
